X6139 E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to Sy. c. to WOr.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.1/UA.6.6.32. 40/50, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. AND PEREGRINE AUTOMATIC STARTER SWITCH. We have been testing on Expl. Chassis and on Sy's car 55-GX automatic starter switches with the teazer relay and hold off coil portion out of action. A 10,000 mile test is also in progress of such an arrangement on 19-K.{Mr Kilner} R has agreed to this scheme which simplifies the starter system considerably and results in a much less expensive relay switch. We should be glad therefore if you will arrange for a new switch to be designed and instructed consisting of a main starter relay switch only. This switch will be required and would be suitable for all our sequence starters on 40/50, J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} 3. and Peregrine, as there will not be much difference in the main starting currents of either owing to the efficiency being smaller with the smaller size motors.
