CONTINUATION SHEET NO. 2 I. T. & R.{Sir Henry Royce} Co. (G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} B.) LTD. Shane R.{Sir Henry Royce} Chichester, Esq. Now it is made in Britain with British capital and British labour I am hopeful that you Company will give us an early opportunity of conducting a comparative test between India super tyres and the make they are now using as standard. As no doubt you are aware every make of car requires special treatment and we have no objection whatever to designing a tyre specially to suit each model of the Rolls-Royce. We have all the necessary data and experience to produce the finest tyre it is possible to produce for any required condition. I would much appreciate your letting me know the latest view-point of your Company regarding tyres including the sizes they have found most suitable, their opinion on the comparative merits of low pressure, medium pressure, and high pressure tyres, the pressures which they now recommend and what they consider the most important features in the tyre. We will then go ahead and produce what we consider will be the most suitable tyre to fulfil their exact requirements. I attach facsimiles of testimonials we have recently received from two important Bus Companies. Whenever the speeds are high, the loads heavy and long non-stop runs are made, India tyres beat all other makes by a wide margin. In one case Indias are averaging 35,000 under such conditions while that no other make had managed to obtain more than 9,000. Are you ever up in Scotland? If so, I would be only too pleased to show you over the Factory. It is a model of its kind. With kind regards, yours sincerely, [Signature] P.S. Please remember me to Captain Burt. | ||
