Re: Phantom III Front Jacks.

I believe you have a 'say' in the compilation and editing of the Instruction Book. There seems to me a strong opinion that it would be a good plan to include in the P.III Instruction Book some information as to how to prevent the front wheel brake locking the wheels when these are jacked up.

At the present time Inspecting Engineers and Demonstrators inform drivers that a block of wood can be used beneath the buffer but it is not over easy to demonstrate when certain wings make it very inaccessible and when one has not a suitably cut block of wood to use. Yet it is important to be very certain that the block of wood does not trap one of the jack feed pipes. Perhaps you would discuss the matter with BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} and consider whether an illustrated description could be inserted in the book with the dimensions of the suitable block of wood.
