BUMPER TEST ON GOSHAWK 11. x4219

We have running the front wheels of Goshawk 11. chassis on the bump test. We are running it with 2" bumps at 180º - the drums revolving at 110 R.P.M.
During the run we have had one top leaf of the front spring break after 10 hours running. We have also had two front spring clips break - one after 7 hours and one after 10 hours running. The springs were some which were specially selected by Messrs. Woodhead for the bump test.
* We have got to get a decided improvement on the average 10 hours before we consider the front springs satisfactory! *
We will send on further reports with reference to these failures.
We have also had a steering lever break. One of the levers connected to the cross steering rod - this had run 11½ hours.
