In reply to your communication of the 8th instant reference as above, we are sorry to report some delay in the production of the raised crown pistons, owing to Foundry equipment not coming forward quite as rapidly as expected, but we now have the castings and confidentially anticipate being able to dispatch to you on the 20th or 21st instant, which we trust will be in time for your requirements. With regard to your provision of pistons without flutes, we think it would be possible to build up some sand cores whilst they are still green, and are actually trying out this procedure now. If this is successful the provision of the necessary castings will be relatively simple. The alternative would involve a temporary core box in pine which could be made quite cheaply, but which expense we know you wish to avoid if possible.
