Dear Sirs,

Re: Short Wheelbase Bentley.

This is to confirm our remarks to you during our visit to your Works last week, and to supply you with information which you required.

1.B.5.

We were very pleased in general with the appearance of the 1.B.5 mock up car, and confirm that you will have this ready for our Sales Department to inspect about the middle of this week. You will be informed of the date.

We agree that we do not like the appearance of the front bumper, which requires to be moved in towards the car at the centre. We send herewith print of PD.95 which shows the original bumper on F.CD.30 moved in at the centre 3" and the bumper bracket fixing moved back ½". We suggest that you use the chromium plated face of the existing bumper and if necessary make up a soft iron bumper bow member, unless you can soften the existing one. You will notice that the drawing PD.96 as well as F.CD.30 shows the standard Bentley over-riders. We would be glad if you would borrow a pair of these from a standard Bentley and fit them up. By drilling very slowly it is possible to drill the chromium plated face member of the bumper.
