We confirm the alteration to the rear floor, which was unsatisfactory as originally tried, and since returning, note that the original PD.7. and PD.14 for the old frame show wells for the heel, which were not provided. However, since we have the new lower frame our present solution of a lowered floor is to be preferred. We suggest that you check over that there is nothing on the latest chassis which will prevent this new lowered floor. In this connection also and referring to PD.7. and PD.14, we notice now that you have made no provision in the floor under the front seats for clearing the back end of the gearbox and the propeller shaft damper, and would be glad if you would refer to these drawings and modify the floor.

With respect to the front wings of this car, we think that a large up-looking drain in the edge around their back ends is necessary to collect the water that is driven back down the wing, and so drop it on the road underneath the car. We enclose herewith a sketch of what we propose. For a similar reason we need the drip ledge on the base of the spare wheel well to prevent mud and water from dropping on to the road at this point, and being driven back on to the front of the rear wings

Dummy Chassis.

We left with you the drawings mentioned in our Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}10/N. of the 11th.inst, giving you the latest particulars of the Short Wheelbase Bentley chassis. The writer would be glad if you would have sorted out all the obsolete drawings mentioned in that letter, for him to remove when next he calls.

We wish you to now complete the second dummy chassis to these latest instructions, As soon as the mock up is approved, and we would be glad if you would modernise the number 1 dummy chassis, making the front portion also up-to-date and being capable of use with both the rear portion of No.1 and No.2. dummies.
