RECEIVED 31 JUL 1931 HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} FROM DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}3/M1.7.31. C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} P. 2. FRONT APRON. XU 531. We believe we have previously pointed out that the modified design of front apron as got out by Derby has one feature which the design produced at WW. had not got. Our design - N. scheme 3138. - enabled the apron to be removed so that the wiring to the lamps could be attended to without removing the front wings. On the cheapened design proposed by Derby - Sch. 1426. - the shield over the front horns passes down the outside of the frame and will be bolted up between the wing and the chassis frame. To remove this it will be necessary to remove the front wings. Personally we should have thought this was a feature which would give the coachbuilders considerable trouble and would make the cost of wiring expensive. We think this point should be again brought to your notice before the matter goes too far. RHC{R. H.
