To Cy. from Bn. {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to Fy. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X3457 Enal/W19919. RE 3.47 to 1 BACK AXLE RATIO. With reference to Oy5-F5919, the 3.47 to 1 ratio gears are completed and about to be tested. There appears to be some doubt, however, as to whether these gears as designed are satisfactory from the strength point of view. With regard to paragraph 3, at the present stage it appears desirable that we should send you completed gears but presumably at a later date, when you get going, you will, of course, cut your own gears. We are pressing on with this low gear question, and it will not now be very long before you get some gears providing of course our tests satisfy us. Bn. {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Bn {W.O.
