be used in conjunction with it to avoid mild steel bearing
on mild steel. We find that the brass levers are inclined
to wear rapidly at this point.

RR. will send a modified drawing of the throttle
body showing the alterations necessary for making this piece
in aluminium, such as bronze bushes for the throttle spindle.

A point not mentioned during the discussion is
that the suction chamber should be fitted with the type of
cap used on the RR. semi-expanding carburetter instead of the
S.U. standard cap. The ventilation of the former is
arranged so that it is protected by a small skirt turned on
the cap, and is not so liable to collect dirt as the S.U. type.

We propose to stamp or engrave the cap at Mr.
Skinner's suggestion, with a notice advising what oil should
be used, such as, "Use thin oil only".
