Dear Sirs, For the attention of Mr. West. We acknowledge receipt of your letter of April 9th and confirm that all P.100's delivered to you in the future will embody the new front glass with the plain centre and the strengthened dipper bracket. We are working out a scheme for your consideration which will obviate the necessity for an electrical connection on the tripod arm and briefly the proposal is to mount the bulb in the back of the reflector instead of on the tripod and utilise the latter for some form of bulb shield to intercept the direct rays of light from the bulb on the lines which have been discussed between us in the past. We think we can make quite an attractive looking arrangement and in place of the centre focussing knob in the present tripod, some form of badge or the Rolls Royce monogram might appeal to you. It is proposed to focus the lamp in the new arrangement by means of a knurled ring which will be placed in an accessible position immediately behind the bulb. By this arrangement we shall be able to avoid piercing the forward edge of the reflector Handwritten note: x i.e. Bulb in reflector Contd. | ||
