147-GY...DAVIES.

----

You will remember the last move in connection with this car was that we had selected a duplicate (No.147-GY) which we were sending down to Mr.Davies to test. He has turned this car down.

We have now lent him a car whilst we put his own car right.
The question how is, how to do this. The only two alternatives we have are:-

(1) To take one of the two cars you recently sent us which were specially selected for demonstration work on the Riviera and see if either of these cars is likely to be suitable, and if so to transfer the bodies, hoping that this more or less gamble will come off.

(2) The progress being made with the work that E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has progressed standardising a desirable arrangement of new engine mounting, etc. on the lines of that recently tested on 24-EX which was then, of course, only experimental.
If this is likely to be available in the course of a week or ten days it may be that this would be the desirable way of dealing with this very difficult case.

If, therefore, you can arrange to let us have some information on the 3 o'clock call tomorrow in respect of item No.2 we should be obliged, and in the meantime PN.{Mr Northey} is proceeding with the testing of the two cars referred to above.
