W. A.{Mr Adams} Robotham, Esq.,
Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd.,
DERBY.

Dear Mr. Robotham,

I am going to the States on the 17th May and I wonder whether you would advise me to have my Bentley fitted with larger wheels, and, if so, what it would cost. Dev. tells me that his is better. It does not ride so hard on the bumpy roads and generally he thinks it is a nicer car altogether with large size wheels.

If I did send the car up to have this job done, I would like you to give the car a once-over. It has done about 35,000 miles. The tappits I think are a little noisy, but the worst feature, although it is more or less a body job, is that the near side wing has badly got the jitters. Otherwise the car is running all right.

If you would do this, I should then send it down to the body makers and let them see what they could do to the body. Either the dashboard or the body itself creaks badly for a car of this quality. The water runs in very badly when it rains. What I thought I would do was to let Park Ward fit a new sliding roof or recover the old one to stop the rattle on the sliding roof.

I would very much appreciate your views on this matter and as I am leaving on Wednesday of next week, perhaps you would be so kind as to let me have them as early as possible.

Yours sincerely,
J.W. Howlett
