The following is an extract from Mr Royce's memo R/P31.7.14. :- "Since Mr Platford's experiment with the expansion, it is no good expecting much good from ferodo tips. Substitute instead short pieces of ferodo with short pieces of cast iron between, the ferodo being held down by four rivets and the cast iron by two". p.
