For the attention of G.H. Grylls, Esq.

17th October, 1938.

Dear Sirs,

Reverting to your letter of the 6th October, we have discussed this point very thoroughly with our Test Division and it is confirmed that the Highfield dynamometer is strictly limited to measurements up to 70 m.p.h.

The use of our high speed tyre testing machine has been considered but several factors render it, in our opinion, unsuitable for power consumption measurements of a reliable character.

We are not, however, ceasing our investigations as we should like to help you in the determination of this interesting feature, and if we have any later news we will write you again.

Yours faithfully,
For DUNLOP RUBBER CO., LTD.

Manager,
Car Manfrs. Division.
