Rolls-Royce Limited,
DERBY, England.

Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. Robotham.

With reference to your recent discussion with Mr. Russell-Sharp on the subject of taking a series of oil samples from a Rolls-Royce or Bentley engine at various mileages up to 10,000, we would advise that Mr. Russell-Sharp has been in touch with Mr. Eleaney and Mr. Crawford and arrangements have been completed to secure samples every 2,500 miles and we understand that the car itself will be that driven by Mr. Fleck.

Apparently it is not yet decided on which model this test shall be made but we understand that a complete log will be kept during the test, particularly as regards the importance of oil added and general information.

Two samples will be drawn at each 2,500 miles, one being forwarded to your Chief Metallurgist at Derby and the other to our Laboratory. At the conclusion of the test we will be glad to forward you complete results of our analyses.

Yours faithfully,
VACUUM OIL COMPANY, LIMITED.

O.T. Jones
Chief Engineer.
