(7) Front spring alum packings for giving the necessary lean are broken across holes, faces show signs of fidgitting, locating pieces and backing plates O.K. Frames & Fittings. Frame approx; .125 out of line,and bulged out .125 on off-side between 2nd and 4th members and requires stretching,but otherwise O.K. Off-side rear buffer shews signs of perishing,and should be replaced. Slight signs of fidgetting where front rear spring brackets are fitted, bolts were loose owing to distortion of frame,and have been increased to .375 dia.,(see sketch of front spring rear bracket) Frame flange distorted due to crashing down on front buffers. Oil pipe from frame to sphere broken off.(see report on sphere etc,) Screws in oil pipe sphere bracket loose. Petrol Tap screws loose. Bonnet eye loose on dashboard. Wiring clips loose near 3rd cross member.(bolt missing) Bolts in bearing for H.B.Equalizing Shaft loose ( viz; 2 off-side and 1 near side). 1 bolt loose in near side dashbracket. Front Engine Suspension Bracket and Pins. actual size. drg.size. wear. No appreciable wear on brackets .505 .500+1 .0005 wear on bolts .497 .498-1 .0005 Suggest replacing bolts. Engine Feet - Rear. Off-side-2 bolts slack at top. Near-side - bottom front bolt slack. Petrol Tank & Fittings. Number plate illuminating glass smashed. Screw missing from O.S.dummy lamp holder. O.S.Wiring pipe slightly pulled away from frame 1 screw loose. Bolt fastening petrol tank stay to frame loose. Rivet sheared off O.S.frame bracket (Petrol Tank stay). Nuts on centre stay loose. Nuts and bolts on luggage grid stays loose. Foot Brake Equalizer. Condition good. | ||
