-2- (5) Shock Dampers. Adjustable. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} says position is still as reported in minutes. He has made provision for its application to 20/25. Waiting decision as to whether automatic control is to be brought in or not. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has made provision for its introduction on Peregrine and J.II. as far as possible, but modifications are necessary to method of connecting foot pedal shaft levers to engine unit. La.{L. A. Archer} has been informed of this and it is for him to deal with the modification. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} has one 40/50 car running with the W.W. scheme of automatic control. Peregrine III. and J.II. are being fitted with hand control. Peregrine will probably be completed by December 2nd. (6) J.II. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has completed his part of the work on J.II. which was required to include the improvements found necessary on Peregrine. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says the first car will have the quiet second speed, but this will be produced by exp. dept. and a design is still required. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} has dealt with all the items up to him shewn in the list under Item 3 of minutes of Nov. 2nd. S. points out that the patent question regarding the self adjusting tappets should be looked into as soon as possible and By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has made a note to do this. (7) Peregrine. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} says the engine is now almost clear and little else is required on this unit. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} to review question of Tools, Material and Costs to find out exactly where we are on each of these items at the moment. Peregrine No.2 which is in France has done about 4,000 miles. Reports have been issued on troubles experienced. No.3 Peregrine is now running and No.1 is being rapidly made up-to-date with a view to replacing No.2 in France. (8) Bensport. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is pushing ahead with producing the first experimental car which will have the J.I. engine and gearbox. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} says the Bensport gearbox is not yet cleared by W.H., but they should send him their final designs at any moment now. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} will require about three weeks to complete the drawings and issue instructions. | ||
