W/P {Derby Works / Production} - Sr. 43873 Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les.29/KW.12.11.34. Re Dubonnet Suspension. Thanks for your note. I heard from Dubonnet, but he gave no date as to when the car would be on the road. I wrote to him on the 31st of last month but have had no reply. Can you find out how the position lies. As soon as the car is runable I want to come over to France to try it. We realize that we will have to play about with damper settings in order to get the best results. What we do not want to happen is for Dubonnet to carry out a lot of road test and development work on this car without somebody from Derby taking an interest. So if you could try to find out Dubonnet's proposed programme, that is, when the car will be runable and what he hopes to do with it if it is not quite to his liking, I will get Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} to decide whether someone from here goes out to the car, or whether he thinks the development work should be done here. At the moment Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is in favour of the car coming straight back directly it is runable. Hope you and your wife are well. Have been interested in your remarks re the 5-litre Mercedes. You didn't sell Wheyman's Ford to Rn. {Mr Robinson} and BN. {W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Les. | ||
