Hollingworth} On account of the length of time usually taken in obtaining the originals of a new set of Hypoid gears from America, we wish to set the Bentley 50 gears going at once. Herewith is PD.92 giving the tooth particulars of the 8/37 ratio, with 1.500 offset, for that car, and we suggest a pair of gears should be ordered from Gleasons at once to this actual drawing. This will enable them to get on with the necessary development work, and should the progress of the design require slight alterations to either of the gear blanks, these can be incorporated in the details, which will be made when the design is finished. We suggest that no particulars of the torque on the gears need be given. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} GRY{Shadwell Grylls} TH | ||
