R.R. 225A (100 T) (S.H. 159 11-8-20) G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} 2809 ORIGINAL 6 TO EFC. FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} c-to-OJ. X.664 X.1402 RE. BATTERIES. R10/M20.9.23. Regarding batteries for our cars I am still of the opinion that a larger battery is not needed and would not solve the problem. I feel sure that the benefit will be derived when we get a vibrator controlled dynamo capable of giving a big charge while the lights are on and when the battery is down. It is not a question of holding enough energy but a question of replacing the energy often and quickly enough, and also that the battery shall be capable of standing a long time without losing it's charge, that is, we do not want a battery of greater capacity, but one of greater reliability and absence of leakage. We cannot agree to greater weight:actually U.S.A. are reducing theirs. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
