O.y. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}/WH. 3rd. December 1938. M.Olley Esq., Vauxhall Motors Ltd., Luton, BEDS. Dear Oy., We are toying with the idea of using 4-ply tyres because they save a lot of weight. We notice that most American cars, including the high performance Century Buick, run on 4-ply tyres. Can you let us know whether bursting of the side wall is a frequent trouble in the States, or ever causes any accidents. In other words, what is your opinion of the use of 4-ply tyres. Yours sincerely, | ||
