| (2) Mr. Johnson. on each Suggestion Box, such as:- Suggestions dealing with improvements in the chassis. An employee making a suggestion should bear in mind that the information required is where the chassis can be improved and why in his opinion it needs it, - not necessarily in what manner can the improvement be effected. Suggestions of "means" of effecting improvements will be recognised if worthy, but it should be understood that this is not the object of the scheme. If a man has a really useful idea the above notice will not stop him from sending it in. I think this is a matter which should receive attention because the discontent which will arise from the necessarily wholesale refusal of suggestions referring to "means" of improvement will undo, to a large extent, the beneficial effect that this scheme may have on the employees. It appears to be necessary to lead the men very definitely in the direction that in which we require them to think or they will try to cover too much ground and failure and disappointment will result. This probably refers not only to suggestions of chassis | ||
