Dear Sirs,

Will you please send us particulars of your Beryllium Bronzes, with regard to machining, hardness and possibility of obtaining a really hard surface with heat treatment. We wish to find a material that is easily machined on an automatic, non magnetic and one that can be hardened.

At the present time we are using small brass rollers which are proving too soft. They have to run between faces of mild steel and cast iron and the rolling motion is only small and the loading not heavy. We would be much obliged if you could give us an early reply to the above questions and the price of any material you may recommend. A sample roller is enclosed.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
