to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to EX. K8500 EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1.30.10.25. RE FLOOR-BOARDS ON CHASSIS 8EX. With further reference to the floor boards on subframe cars and especially on 8 EX. which were in a very bad state when the car was brought down here largely due to their being incorrectly fitted up. We have added to a blue print of N.Sch.2001. some details which we would like carrying out on the car before it goes to France. The gap between the chassis boards and those on the body must be always sufficient to prevent their ever contacting. The space can be filled with either rubber or felt. The horizontal chassis board was not screwed to the dash bracket. We have indicated that such screws should be fitted so as to prevent the loose sloping board from getting out of place. The top sloping board on the chassis should not quite touch the dash or sqeaks will result. Then the whole floor should be covered with a well fitting layer of Sorbo Rubber or felt before a carpet is fixed. We would be glad if all the future cars are fitted up in this way and if 8 EX. can be put right. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} ENCLOSURE. - PRINT OF N' SCH. 2001. | ||
