PHANTOM CHASSIS 'E' STEERING.
----------------------------

With further reference to N. Sch. 2632 showing 'E' type steering column, we find that if we use the same length of column as for 'D' type we should get a dimension of 34.075" for the horizontal distance from the dash to the rear edge of the steering wheel instead of 34.375". The scheme originally specified this distance to be 34.875", but it was suggested by Sales to reduce same by .500", making the dimension 34.375", therefore it will be seen that if we use 'D' length of column the distance will be reduced by .300" only.

It would be an advantage to the Works if the columns could be made the same length for both 'D' and 'E' type steering. We will of course maintain the height of the steering wheel from the top edge of the frame i.e. 18".
