PHANTOM III.
Independent Suspension - Lower Yoke Piece Bearing.

We send herewith N.Sch.4788 showing a method for fitting reversed "Perfect" oil seals to the yoke piece lower bearing of Phantom III.

We have sent to you previously N.Sch.4779 which fulfils the same purpose, but this design was made for the conversion of existing cars by the minimum number of pieces. Since, however, it has been decided that no conversions will take place, we have preferred to use the design on N.Sch.4788, which calls for one extra piece, namely a new inner race, but provides a much cheaper method of manufacture as it avoids the grinding of the blind holes in the thrust washers.

As in N.Sch.4779, so in N.Sch.4788, no adjustment washers are provided, and it will be necessary, therefore, to grind to length the thrust washers, or to use selective assembly.

Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}

Att: N.Sch.4788.
