| (5) 28. MAGNETOS - noisy. 29. ENGINE WATER PIPE JOINTS. Trouble from leakage with cars in service and the difficulty of tightening up joints to prevent same ( BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} has this matter in hand). 30. ENGINE OIL LEVEL GAUGE. Engines have been over-filled with oil causing over-oiling. It has been requested that an over-flow tap or plug should be fixed. 31. OIL PRESSURE FAILURES. This has happened on one or two occasions, considered due to foreign matter on the relief valve. A request has been made for the relief valves to be more accessible, and external adjustment to vary the oil pressure. 32. ENGINE VIBRATIONS. High speed fussiness, chiefly shown when accelerating engine to high speed when car standing - vibrations of steering column etc. or when running car on low gear at high engine speed, light or retard (CWB's complaint). Low speed torque vibrations, period felt on steering wheel etc. 33. RADIATOR AND SHUTTER FINISH. This is a point which the Works are continually trying to improve. 34. PEDAL PLATES. Requests have been made for these to be of better finish. (The Works have the matter in hand). We have also had complaints of engine rattles which have been found due to unsatisfactory clearance between the pedal stems and the holes in the pedal plate. 35. ENGINE PISTON KNOCKS ETC. Starting up from cold O.K. under normal heat conditions also "elusive knocks" - considered more prevalent after hard run. Noticeable when running light. Considered improve with engine running. Experimental & Design Depts. have matter in hand. So far no serious complaints from customers. CONTINUED. | ||
