The results of the tests with the 25 HP. show that with the flywheel acting as a pump the least leak of oil occurs but the gear-box leaks are increased. We find that the leak only occurs when the car is driven hard for some distance. At a touring speed of not more than 40 M. {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} P.H. there are no oil leaks. In view of the fact that the Test Dept. are now complaining of oil leaks from No.7 bearing on the 25 HP. we propose that the scheme of making the clutch case air tight, without the balancing scheme, be brought into production. It will be necessary to leave a hole in the undershield to get at the drain plug fitted into the clutch case, for periodical draining. This should not be necessary more than once every 2,000 miles.
