Dear Mr. Fisher,

Further to our recent conversation concerning fuel economy with Stromberg carburetters and also the problem of the 6 duals which you are trying to obtain from America, attached is a copy of our letter dated 27th September last year, which explains the position re the latter.

Further to this, we can make the following observations:-

1 We have proved to our own satisfaction that by using the 1¹/โ‚ƒโ‚‚" venturi, we are able to give a setting which gives improved economy.

The internal fast idle etc., which goes with the AAV.25 on the 1938 Cadillac is also essential to us.

At the present time, we are covering the ground work towards our post war programme. This means that we are working with the material that is available to us at the present time. The question of just what is available to us from the States both during and after the war is of very great importance. You will see therefore that, until this question has been settled by Zeniths, the question of a production dual Stromberg of suitable design at a suitable price will be hanging in the air, as it has done now for the past two or three years.

The problem, as we see it from your point of view, has complications such as current design in America. For instance, the latest duals which have exhaust controlled choke etc., are obviously developments in line with the trend of American engine development. These same instruments are just not suitable to our water heated hot spots with exhaust manifold on the opposite
