(2) SUPPLIES.-POLICY.-DESIGN IN RELATION TO OUTPUT. In discussing the above point, which occupied all yesterday's meeting and half of this morning's, it was unanimously agreed that in order to get down to the actual facts of the case, and fix a time on each section, which would represent the delay in introducing a new design, and in addition the loss due to scrap, it would be necessary for Mr.Whitehead to go carefully through all the part lists and give a minimum time for each section required to obtain material. At the same time it was pointed out it was necessary for the Works to prepare a similar estimate in regard to production, starting ab initio for any one section, to give the time from material received until the parts were fitted to a completed car. The above statement represents a consideration of a part of the Minute of the 17th inst. (3) DYNAMOS.-SUPPLIES. The Director of Lucas Electrical Co. visited us yesterday and we discussed with him all our difficulties connected with dynamos. Lucas' Director made it quite clear that his | ||
