Clarifying the procedure for using initials on correspondence when a department head is absent.

COPY. To Wn. from CJ. CJ10/W12.2.25. Referring to your Wn51/H10.2.25. it was quite right that By's initials should appear on letters issued by his Department when he is present, no matter whether he writes the letter personally or not. The initials of the man in his department, who writes the memo. should appear in addition, but, if By were away from the Works owing to illness or absence from the country, his initials should not appear but above the ordinary reference there should be inserted "By's Department. By is absent". Otherwise By's initials should not appear on the paper at all. CJ. | ||
