Before we standardised D.W.S. Jacks we carried out a large number of tests, and took particular care to satisfy ourselves that it is not a normal habit of these jacks to become extended. We have tried to make this occur, but have never succeeded.

We can only suggest the obvious, viz:-
that the jack on the front axle had not been screwed back into its case after use, and we should be interested to know if there is any information available to prove this point.

At the same time we will write to the jack makers and ascertain what their recommendations are.
