Bentley Timing Gears.

We send you herewith LeC.3577 showing an experimental design for quietening the camshaft drive.

This consists of a brake with friction pads in the camshaft wheel which are arranged to give the required braking at 750 r.p.m. of the engine, and fading away to nothing at 1500.

We have already sent you two other schemes dealing with this problem, namely, Fabroil camshaft wheel and the spring loaded balance cam.
