The Dynamo was stripped for examination and the tape insulation on the field coil was found to have deteriorated and broken away near the junction of coil winding, and lead-out flexibles, so that the joint was in danger of earthing on the yoke. As repairing involved removing and retaping all the field coils, we decided to fit a new Dynamo DE. 1950

Petrol Gauge and Field Warning Light, N.S. tail and stop lamps and the instrument board lamps were all out of action and quite a number of wires were in a bad condition. These were replaced and the Electricians time for doing so is included in the total man hours taken for the complete repairs of the car.

Total time taken for the above work - 292 man hours.
