PHANTOM 111. RUBBER SUPPORT FOR EXHAUST SILENCER.

Please receive herewith :-

E.CD.919 Modification of Rear Silencer Rear Support
Phantom 111. (Existing Chassis).

E.CD.921 Alternative Modified Rear Silencer Support.
Phantom 111. (Existing Chassis).

These designs are in response to the request of Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} for a rubber support for silencer, which can easily be applied to customers cars when squeaky spherical type silencer supports are complained of.

It will be necessary to remove the existing spherical support, and also the top support bracket F.86983, which means removing the four rivets which fix the bracket to the stiffener in the chassis cross member, the exhaust silencer is not altered in any way.

Either of the new supports can then be bolted in position.

We suggest that both of these designs should be tried out experimentally, and a recommendation made as to which of the designs shouldbe adopted.

Will you therefore please issue the necessary details.
