Your Ref: P/R.1654.

Dear Sirs,

With reference to your letter of the 25th January, we note your offer to supply us with samples of "Safeguard 400" quality brake linings for test purposes.

As we are now testing a number of brake linings on a rig; it will be convenient to test yours also, and, therefore, we enclose blueprints of the pieces we need - four pieces of each will be sufficient.

Although we accept your offer of these samples, and will subject them to just the same tests as our other samples, we feel it only right to warn you that we are testing a great many specimens, and that, therefore, the chances of any one of them showing itself to be the best are naturally rather small.

If you have a wear figure for your material in terms of B.H.P. hours absorbed per cubic inch worn away, we should like to know what it is.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
