In July 1933, with the Bentley menace removed, & the successor to the 6 cyl Phantom II.I. decided upon as a Vee 12, Hives was understandably not interested in the Royalle in which he, with good reason, did not regard as a serious competitor. [Upside down text] of giving to Dr.V.KW/11.V.33. Many thanks for the above memo. We have at various times looked over the Golden Bugatti. This car has been exhibited at various motor shows. It is a car in which we have very little interest - it is too large and heavy to suit modern requirements. .HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hives was not perhaps "booted" up with this. on being promoted to G.M. & a seat on the Board, he was also made a director of Bentley Motors (1931) Ltd, & what remains is shown on the next page. | ||
