HRB/B.......... 17th October, 1933. H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} West, Esq., Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr. West, Thank you for yours of the 16th with further information re R.R.50 Alloy. I am informed, however, that this material cannot be die-cast - at least that is the information given by our Die-Casting Suppliers - and I would like to check up with you as to whether this is true, or not. In any case, we propose to sand-cast these first two platforms. I would also report that I have gone very fully into the question of temperature compensation, and have brought in Dr. Watson, with whom we had a thorough consultation on Monday last. As the result of this, I am confident that we shall be able to tighten up in that direction. In conclusion, I can assure you that I will bring these samples through with as little delay as is possible, but I hope you will agree we try to clear up these little matters, in order to embody them in the samples. Yours faithfully, For THE A.T. SPEEDOMETER CO. LTD. (Signature) H R Buckland Director. | ||
