Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Sirs, For the Attention of Mr John. L. Edwards. With reference to your letter reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/ED{J. L. Edwards}4/GH/1.3.40 dated the 1st inst, for which we thank you, we shall be pleased to make up two of our Car Heaters immediately on receipt of your order. This can be connected to the existing Water System of the car, and we should very much like to suggest you using the special Steam Unit. The main advantage of this is that it not only provides a greater heat, but provides a virtually independent water system for the Heater, and does not interfere with the cooling system of the engine. Our Steam System is described on the enclosed drawing. If this interests you perhaps you would like to send us an exhaust pipe and a drawing of your engine layout. We should then be able to make you an exhaust heater with a flange to screw on to the manifold flange and another flange to screw on to the flange on the exhaust pipe. This would make it possible to easily install and easily remove the heater if required. Yours faithfully, HALLAM, SLEIGH & CHESTON. [Sidebar Text] Manufacturers of Widney Sliding Seat Assemblies.
