TO BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Copy to - CJ. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M26.1.26. EAC. 7. DAMPED PENDULUM LEVER. X7430 We send herewith N. schemes 2124/5. which are alternative arrangements for the damped pendulum lever. The arrangement is Mr. Royce's suggestion and we have carried out his instructions as far as we know, but we have yet to have his final approval, so that it would be unwise to order forgings or castings for the moment. Of the 2 suggestions shewn N. scheme 2124. is as originally proposed to R.{Sir Henry Royce}, and N. scheme 2125. is a suggestion made with the idea of improving the load on the pendulum lever bearing. There is no difference in the casting and very little difference in the forging between the two. We think it is probable that N.sch. 2125. will be the one adopted.
