COMPLETED DATE 28.4.39. STANDARDISATION OF PARTS Date Issued: 7.12.38. Sheet No.: W.21. Drg. No.: EB.4308/9. L.O.P.S. Description: WRAITH VANDERVELL WHITEMETALLED ROCKER BUSHES. Purpose: For quietness of valves operation, also cost. Brief Report and Remarks: The above bushes have run satisfactorily for 20 hrs. endurance and 18,000 miles on 8.B.V. These bushes are pressed in the rockers as received from the makers and given final reaming. With this type of bush and the interference given, the locking pin as used on the present BZ/PC bushed rockers is deleted. Cost Table: Old Parts: Material £0 6s 11d, Labour £0 16s 9d, Burden £1 9s 4d, Total £2 13s 0d New Parts: Material £0 6s 4d, Labour £0 14s 6d, Burden £1 5s 5d, Total £2 6s 3d Decrease in Cost: £0. 6. 9. Production Position and Comments: Vandervell Whitemetalled Rocker bushes can be introduced without scrap at the 1st. chassis in 'D' series since existing type bush has been instructed for 'C' series. There is a decrease in Factory cost of 6/9d. per chassis and the tool cost of £15.0.0d. will thus be recovered after producing 45 chassis i.e. at the 45th. chassis in 'D' series. RHC.{R. H.
