CYLINDER HEAD & BLOCK WITH MODIFIED CORES.
Purpose: To facilitate casting.
Brief Report and Remarks:
In the above the core holes are in the top of the cylinder block and not the base as before, the same holes being used as waterway holes, thus the new core holes serves two purposes.
Can detect no difference in water flow or temp. on test bed and similar head and blocks are fitted to 8.B.V. for further mileage, also to be incorporated on 27.G.VI. Mx{John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer}'s car. This head is strength-ened type as per present production for which a sheet was not issued.

Production Position and Comments:
Cost of Tools £ 17.0.0.
Cylinder head and block with modified cores to facilitate casting can be introduced at the 1st. chassis in 'D' series without scrap.
There is a decrease in Factory cost of 1/- per chassis and the Tool cost of £17.0.0d. will thus be recovered after producing 340 chassis.
