ROLLS-ROYCE REFRIGERATOR CHAMBER REGULATIONS. (1). ADMISSION IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO AUTHORISED PERSONS, I.E. MEMBERS OF THE ENGINE AND ELECTRICAL TESTING STAFF (WITH THE PERMISSION OF THEIR SEPARATE SUPERVISORS) AND AUTHORISED VISITORS. (2). SPECIAL ADDITIONAL CLOTHING MUST BE WORN WHENEVER THE TEMPERATURE OF THE CHAMBER IS BELOW 5oC. (3). NO PERSON SHALL REMAIN IN THE CHAMBER ALONE AND NO ONE MUST REMAIN FOR TIMES LONGER THAN AS SHOWN BELOW. TEMPERATURE OF CHAMBER. MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE PERIOD. +5ºC. - 0ºC. 1 HOUR. 0ºC. - -5ºC. ½ " -5ºC. - -10ºC. ¼ " Below -10 C. 5 MINS. RE-ENTRY MUST NOT BE MADE WITHIN ½ HOUR. (4). NO ENGINE MUST BE STARTED, OR ATTEMPTS MADE TO START IT, UNLESS ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO DISPOSE OF THE EXHAUST GAS. (5). ANY PERSON NOTING THE PRESENCE OF AN UNUSUAL ODOUR OR EXPERIENCING DROWSINESS INSIDE THE CHAMBER MUST SHUT DOWN THE COMPRESSORS AND REPORT THE FACT IMMEDIATELY. (6). ANYONE WORKING AT TEMPERATURES BELOW 0ºC IS ENTITLED TO A HOT DRINK WHEN LEAVING THE CHAMBER. (7). When not in actual use the pit must be kept completely covered. (8). The doors must not be opened for periods longer than necessary. The small access door must at all times be kept unobstructed. (9). The lights inside the refrigerator must be kept switched off except when in use. Great care must be taken that no person is still in the chamber or pit when switching off these lights externally. | ||
