X8450 C. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} BY/HEB{H. Biraben}2/M.14.3.27. PHANTOM CHASSIS. SIDE STEERING TUBE SEC: 7070. IN ACCORDANCE WITH "N" SCHEME 2258. Please receive herewith one blue print of the following:- F.76726 Spring for Side Steering Tube. 4 off per chassis. Kindly instruct that a Side Steering Tube is to be assembled experimentally incorporating the above spring in place of spring F.75673, owing to the fact that the former is an improved spring giving the conditions required by the above mentioned "N" Scheme, combined with a practicable maximum stress. The details have been modified by Alteration No: 9369/F.{Mr Friese} to suit the new spring F.76726, and will necessitate a new Tube being built up. 6 Springs F.76726 have been produced by Salters' and submitted experimentally.
