40/50 HP. SPARE WHEEL CARRIER.

Referring to your memo. DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M16.7.24. The tyre brackets which failed were made to N.sch.1409.
The depth of the boss was .300".

We have not been able to trace N.sch.1433 at Derby.

We have noticed, when fitting these tyre brackets, it is necessary to stiffen the frame up on the inside. The best place to get hold of the frame is at the point of the rear engine feet, but this takes the wheel too far back and makes it difficult to open the doors. Where we have fixed these tyre brackets in place of the Barkers which is 6" forward of the engine foot, we notice that the frame deflects considerably, when going over a bumpy road,at the point where the bracket is attached.
