Clearances for a gate, interlock, and sliding gear mechanism.

in the engaged and out of gear position, and that the gate and interlock should have ample clearance, which I believe could be from 25 to 50 thous. It has been a great mistake in this particular type of box and sliding gear mechanism in making the clearance insufficient, but in addition to the clearances being sufficient, the timing of the interlock gate and spring plungers should be carefully watched or the advantages of the clearances will be wasted.
