EXTRACT FROM R4/W18816 of AUGUST 18th, 1916. RE X. 719 - BRAKE - FERRODO LINING - STD. CAR. BRAKES. "In addition to the aluminium strap for the outer foot brake, I am proposing the use Ferodo for the side brakes and since the side brake lever can follow up the expansion differently to the foot brake, I feel sure that this will be found desirable. It will effect a slight saving of weight, and as we now know better how to test brakes than previous to 1914, the matter should present no difficulty." R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
