Dear Dick,

Following on our conversation, I confirm that Bleaney has offered to let you have a new car for your old one and £275, your old car to be available after Christmas.

At the present moment he has reserved you an early January chassis, but deliveries being what they are he clearly cannot hold this indefinitely without some written confirmation from you that you are going to purchase it. I shall be glad therefore if you will write to him direct on the subject. The chassis he is holding is for delivery early in January; however, it is possible that if any potential purchasers fall out, this delivery date may be improved upon.

I could not quite understand your observations on the 'phone that by taking the £275 and your old car the Agent would be making more than £400. Actually, if your old car is sold for £1250 it would appear that the Agent will have £75 in hand to cover him for his expenses and as his profit.

I am interested to hear that you think the 12-HP. Rover is a good car at the price, because I am thinking of getting one myself.

Yours sincerely,
