Minute No.4.Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
Roller Tappets.

It was pointed out by Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} that this would not be so and the Roller Tappet is being proposed entirely as a production improvement and the customer would not appreciate the difference.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} referred to the self-adjusting tappets and it was generally agreed that the adoption of these would give a great improvement from a silence point of view.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} pointed out, however that the device is not by any means ready for standardisation and that a great deal of trouble is at the moment being experienced with the 10,000 mile car in France.

There is no possibility of the standardisation of this device being included in the next material sanction.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} here referred to the tappet clatter which Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} complains of and said that he was of the opinion that it was due to sticky valves and is not really a tappet trouble at all. He also stated that the clatter only occurs on starting up from stone cold and that in the ordinary way it should not cause a customer any inconvenience after once starting up in the morning.

Minute No.5.
Oil Pump with Helical Gears.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} referred to the oil pump with helical gears and it was pointed out to him that this also was simply a production improvement which the customer would not appreciate.

Minute No.6.
More Silent Fan.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} also referred to a more silent fan and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} stated that it is possible to apply this improvement and it was agreed that the fans for T. Series should be held back with a view to adopting a more silent fan.

Minute No.7.
Eccentric Dynamo Pinion.

Eccentric Dynamo Pinion was referred to by Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}, and it was pointed out that this also is a production improvement.

Minute No.8.
Slipping Clutches.

Cx.{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager} referred to the inconvenience of clutches not stopping and Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} replied that he was not in a position to do anything to improve this at the moment. He stated that the 10,000 miles test car now in France is also giving trouble in this direction.
